MINIATURE IBS AND ICS INDUCTIVE PROXIMITY SENSOR SERIES WITH INTEGRATED IO-LINK COMMUNICATION

Thanks to the compact size and the high operating frequency of up to 6 kHz, these miniature sensors are mainly used in rotational speed monitoring and wherever there is limited installation space.

Lainate, July 2018 - Carlo Gavazzi Automation, the international electronics group with activities in the design, manufacture and marketing of electronic equipment, presents two more new series of inductive sensors with integrated IO-Link communication: the miniaturized IBS04 and ICS05.

The IBS04 and the ICS05 series represent the ideal solution for industrial automation equipment in applications where space is very limited and where non contact detection of metal objects in general position-sensing and presence sensing is required.

These sensors are available in a stainless steel housing with an M8 plug and 2m PVC cable connection for flexible installation.

Once connected to an IO-Link master, these sensors can be easily and completely configured, enabling additional advanced functionalities such as the detection counter (RPM) and the speed controller. Each sensor now becomes fully programmable and allows hundreds of configurations in one single device.

Developed in our Competence centre in Denmark, these IO-Link inductive sensor series have been designed to be ideal in specific markets such as Plastic & rubber, Textile, Materials handling and Machine tools, and to provide more and more tailored solutions so as to perfectly fit any application need.

NRG SERIES: THE SOLID STATE RELAYS WITH FIELDBUS INTERFACE

Access to real-time data provides cost savings and increases machine uptime.

Lainate, July 2018 - Carlo Gavazzi Automation, the international electronics group with activities in the design, manufacture and marketing of electronic equipment, presents its new series of solid state relays, the NRG.

In this 4th industrial revolution, machine builders need to make informed decisions, solve urgent problems on short notice and develop machines that are more autonomous. The NRG platform has been developed to fit this purpose. The RG solid state relays have evolved to integrate monitoring and a communication interface to allow the read-out of variables through Modbus RTU.

The solid state relays in the NRG series are available either with heatsink (RGC..N) or without heatsink (RGS..N) for ratings up to 660 V, 65 AAC and 90 AAC respectively. The benefit of panel space savings has been retained with the NRG series. Ratings up to 37 AAC @ TA 40° C are provided in a product width of only 17.8 mm.

The accessibility of real-time data with the NRG series allows machine builders to distinguish their solutions by offering added value with smarter machines that ultimately result in cost savings for the end user”, Dorianne Grech, International Product Manager, says. “The NRG solution is very versatile since the communication interface is used only for feedback. This enables OEMs already using solid state relays to easily integrate the NRG into existing machines with minimal efforts, as the control system does not need to change to accommodate the NRG.”

Developed in our Competence Centre in Malta, the NRG has been designed to suit any heating application where reliable and precise maintenance of temperature is crucial to the quality of the end product. Typical applications are plastic injection machines, PET blow moulding machines, semiconductor manufacturing and glass tempering machines.
